Ingredients

Method

1.Preheat oven to 180°C or 160°C fan. Grease and flour a 6-cup fluted ring or tube pan. Sift flour, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda and a good pinch of salt into a large bowl and set aside.
2.Using an electric mixture beat margarine and 3/4 cup of sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and eggwhites, one at a time, beating well each addition. Fold in alternately with yogurt, beginning
3.Stir together cocoa, remaining sugar and 1/4 cup water in a medium bowl until smooth. Fold one-third of cake batter into cocoa mixture.
4.Spoon half of remaining plain cake batter into prepared pan. Top with chocolate batter. Spoon over dollops of remaining plain cake batter. Using a round-bladed knife, swirl together gently, without blending completely, for a marble effect.
5.Bake for 30-40 minutes, until a skewer inserted comes out clean. Leave to cool in pan for 5 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack to cool completely. Dust with icing sugar to serve.
