Method
1.Peel, core and coarsely chop one large apple and one medium pear. Combine fruit with ¹/³ cup (80ml) apple juice and 1 tablespoon lemon juice in medium saucepan over medium heat; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, covered, stirring occasionally, about 15 minutes or until fruit softens and liquid is absorbed. Makes enough compote to accompany four servings of porridge.
