Method

1.Remove and discard skins from sausages. Heat oil in a heavy- based frying pan on medium. Brown sausage mince 4-5 minutes, breaking up lumps. Add onion and garlic and cook 3-4 minutes.
2.Increase heat to high. Stir in passata and bring to boil. Reduce heat to low. Simmer, uncovered, 8-10 minutes until thickened. Season to taste.
3.Pour 1/2 cup mince sauce into a 22cm frying pan (wrap handle in foil if not heat-resistant). Place three pasta pieces over sauce to cover. Top with one third each remaining sauce, cheese and pasta. Repeat layers, finishing with sauce and cheese. Cook 8-10 minutes.
4.Meanwhile, preheat grill on medium. Place pan under grill 2-3 minutes until cheese is golden. Set aside 5 minutes before serving with salad and crusty bread.
